If you are curious about stop motion animation but not sure where to start, you are not alone. In this workshop, Minneapolis-based animator and video artist Adam Loomis will talk through how. Over the course of 15 months, he used grant funding and internet resources to expand his practice to include stop motion techniques and tools. Participants will make a basic wire armature, animate with a ball-and-socket armature, receive a list of recommended online resources and have a chance to connect with other like-minded creators.

Animation experience is recommended but not required.

There are 2 sessions, 3pm and 6pm. They will be approximately 2 hours long. Maximum of 15 participants per session. More sessions will be added if there is enough demand.

RSVP by filling in the form here. Once you have completed the form, you will be provided with a PayPal link, where you will pay a registration fee. Pay on a sliding scale between $10 and $30. Your spot will be secured upon completing payment.

Adam Loomis is a fiscal year 2018 recipient of an Artist Initiative grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
